Don't Panic

I know this one seems obvious, but if you're reading this and are currently locked out of your house, you must stay calm. Panicking right now will not help you get inside your home any faster. Calm down, take a breath, and try to relax.

Be Aware of Your Surroundings

There are a couple of different things to make sure you think of quickly:

1. The weather - Is it cold? Try to find warmth, whether you get back in your car, find a blanket, or maybe even go to your neighbor's house, or nearby store or business to keep out of the cold.

2. Are you safe outside right now? Is it late and dark on the north side of Springfield? Find a safe place to wait for a locksmith to arrive. Your safety is the number one priority.

Call a Locksmith!

DO NOT DRILL YOUR LOCK OR KICK YOUR DOOR DOWN.

The worst thing you can do is try to get in with brute force. For starters, it doesn't always work, and if you can get in that way, you now have a broken lock that will need to be replaced. Just call a professional to come and help you. Almost all the locksmiths in the area are professionally trained to help in emergency home lockouts. Some locksmiths (like us) specialize in home lockouts.

So before you go and break your door, please at least give us or another locksmith a call before something is done that cannot be undone.

Be Patient

For home lockouts in Springfield, it takes us roughly 10-20 minutes to get to you and then another 5-15 minutes to get you inside your home. We will come as fast as we can and help you in every way we can, but please be patient. I know it's tempting to bust your door down or get a crowbar, but trust me, calling a professional locksmith is the better option.

Can't Afford a Locksmith?

If you are unable to afford our services for a home lockout or car lockout, please just give us a call. We will try to work with you and get you taken care of. We want you to get to your home, and we will do whatever we can to make it happen. So please, don't hesitate to call us.
